Enriched Air (sometimes called "Nitrox") is recreational diving's latest tool in the struggle to safely extend no decompression time.
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is designed to teach you the procedures for safe, recreational no decompression diving with enriched air. The course covers the equipment and procedural concerns involving enriched air. You'll learn how to plan dives and determine your no decompression limits and your oxygen exposure limits with enriched air. The program addresses the use of enriched air with 22% to 40% Oxygen, with emphasis on enriched air with 32% and 36% oxygen.
To participate in the Enriched Air Diver course you will need to be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization and be 12 years of age or older.
There are several options to obtaining your Nitrox certification, as this course can be combined with other training dives.
