GETTING TO KOH TAO
There are a number of options for getting to Koh Tao depending on where you are coming from and your budget
Out of the three islands in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui is the only one which has an airport, however there is a very reliable ferry service connecting the three islands to the mainland. Below are the ways to reach the island from the 3 most common destinations; if you have any questions on how to reach us, please drop us an email.
FROM BANGKOK :
- Fly from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi/Bangkok DMK to Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways, and then book a Lomprayah Ferry from Koh Samui (Pralarn/Maenam Pier) to Koh Tao.
- Fly from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi/Bangkok DMK to Surat Thani or Chumphon Airport with AirAsia/Thai Lion Air/Thai VietJet, and then book a Lomprayah Ferry to Koh Tao
- Book the Lomprayah Bus-Ferry connection from Bangkok Khaosan Road through to Koh Tao (with the bus-ferry transfer protected by the company). This tends to be the cheapest option. There is a 6am day journey, and then a 9pm overnight journey.
- Book a train from Bangkok Bang Sue station to Chumphon Railway station, and then book a Lomprayah Ferry to Koh Tao.
FROM PHUKET/KRABI :
- Fly to Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways, and then book a Lomprayah Ferry from Koh Samui (Pralarn/Maenam Pier) to Koh Tao.
- Book the Lomprayah Bus-Ferry connection from Phuket through to Koh Tao (with the bus-ferry transfer protected by the company).
FROM SINGAPORE :
Fly to Koh Samui with Bangkok Airways or Scoot, and then book a Lomprayah Ferry from Koh Samui (Pralarn/Maenam Pier) to Koh Tao. This means that you can reach Koh Tao easily from around the world.
