We are located on the southern coastline of Koh Tao in Chalok Bay. It is a beautiful palm tree lined bay, offering snorkeling from Freedom beach, island look-out points and coastal walks. The area has maintained its original ‘sleepy’ feeling, while allowing development enough to offer visitors all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay (restaurants, bars, ATM, accommodation, local boutique shops, and 7-11). This is the third largest beach in Koh Tao and easily accessible from the Chalok town, which is just 5-10 minutes (drive or cycle) away from the main pier in Mae Haad. It’s the perfect location to offer divers access to sites less visited, for swimmers to enjoy shallow blue waters, and for travelers to relax on the beach.

While many of our guests stay at the resort because of the quality of dive operation, we have facilities that will make anyone’s trip to Koh Tao comfortable. The Cove beachfront restaurant provides international and local cuisine with the best sunset happy hours. During the day, Assava guests can cool off in the swimming pool, relax in a hammock, or pull up a bean-bag on the beach deck. We have paddle boards, kayaks, and snorkeling gear to hire if you prefer a day on the surface of our smooth bay waters. While you are here, please ask any of our friendly staff about motorbike rentals, laundry services, hiking paths and must-see local sites.

Importantly, we have also been awarded the PADI Eco Centre and Green Fins Centre designation, which recognizes our daily contribution to marine conservation.
